Chuck is a native Londoner and a classically-trained clarinetist. He swithced career paths to become a health care professional working with the most difficult forensic psychiatric patients. After retiring, Chuck took on the even more daunting challnege of trying to keep the Tomatos Soupers in line. He did not play for more than thirty years but now has resumed his interest in music and shares his talent several bands playing both saxophone and clarinet.

Thijs is a founding member of the band, and for many years its only genuine musician. In addition to his skill on clarinet and sax, he maintains the music library and drives the bus. Thijs came to Canada in 1980 from Drunen where he operated a neighbourhood bar. In his younger years, Thijs was a commando, parachutist and horseman. He is retired from real estate and now devotes his time to music and family.

Peter (Captain Canada) is a native and  resident of Grand Bend. His enthusiasm for  music probably came from the years, when as a child, he heard many famous bands  in the  Bend’s  Lakeview Casino located next to his father’s food concession. Peter took up the saxophone later in life and now plays in two groups. He operates a flag and banner business. Peter loves life and when not working or playing his music, may be found on the golf course or at the family cottage in Wiarton.

Rick McGee is the newest member of Tomatosoup. He began playing saxophone as a student at H.B. Beal S.S. in London. After his retirment Rick resumed his interest in the saxophone and now plays in several bands including the Shriners Concert, London Concert and New Horizon Bands.

Terry is an energetic musician who always interacts with audiences. He enjoys meeting and talking with people of all ages. He will often leave the group, saxophone at the ready, and play tag with unsuspecting children. Terry writes the monthly news column published on our  website. Terry is an autoworker at Ford. He is one of the few members with a young family and spends as much time with them as possible.
